In September 2010, I was asked to speak at a conference in front of 600 women. Gulp!
I said yes, NOT FOR THE LOVE OF PUBLIC SPEAKING AT ALL!! Bright lights & early mornings are not my comfort zone, but something resounded in me and I just knew that this was absolutely what I had to do. Almost as if it was a vital thread in our infertility tapestry…. so I prayed the heck out of my fear.
The title of my talk was ‘finding spring in winter’ and my story along with 3 other ladies, was threaded between a really beautiful video which linked us all together. All with stories of finding hope, healing or redemption out of a time of ‘winter’. I shared from deep within the valley about my yet-to-be-met desire – to be a mother!
The excerpt above – it is literally me sharing a part of my soul and God has everything to do with it. I have always hoped that somehow one day it could touch someone walking the same valley road that I did. That’s why I said yes! And I’m also grateful for the reminder of where my faith was anchored during the worst of storms.
(Hebrews 6:19) we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to HOLD FAST TO THE HOPE set before us. We have this AS A SURE & STEADFAST ANCHOR FOR THE SOUL, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf.
